FENIX360 and Gaana Preview Artist Monetisation Tools Designed to Usher in New Era in Streaming
Panel at All About Music in Mumbai previews the integration of FENIX360’s creator tools into Gaana, bringing social engagement and monetisation features directly into the app
Upcoming suite of creator tools includes an artist video and photo feed, artist storefronts for selling merchandise, event tickets, and fan patronage
Launches a week of global celebrations featuring Grammy-winning composer Ricky Kej and TV host and musician David Osmond and Harvey Goldsmith
FENIX360 and Gaana will showcase a direct-to-fan ecosystem at Mumbai's All About Music conference – featuring a native social feed and artist monetisation tools – set to be integrated into the Gaana app by the end of the year.
This marks the next phase of a partnership formed in April between FENIX360, a creator platform setting out to reimagine the streaming experience with alternative revenue streams, and Indian audio-streaming service Gaana, which recently reported an 84% jump in annual revenue and steady 15% subscriber growth from the year ended March 2026.
The companies will progressively activate FENIX360’s expanded suite of creator tools directly within the Gaana app. The rollout will introduce a native, scrolling media feed that pairs visual content with Gaana's audio catalogue, allowing fans to discover music, engage with posts, and build an artist's audience without leaving the platform.
Artists will have the ability to operate independent storefronts selling physical and digital merchandise, offer ticketing for live shows, host gated and paid live streams, and receive direct financial support from their most dedicated fans. This will be controlled by an artist app that will equip artists with audience analytics, multimedia upload capabilities, and community moderation controls. Crucially, the artist or relevant rights-holder will retain 70% of all revenue generated through FENIX360’s tools.
The launch arrives as major platforms like Spotify and YouTube increasingly attempt to socialise their services with short-form visual content. The FENIX360 and Gaana integration goes beyond these surface-level social features with the monetisation tools enabling artists to engage with and earn from their fans.
The upcoming features will be announced at 3:30 PM IST during the All About Music panel, GAANA & FENIX 360 - Building the Artist Fan Ecosystem.
The integration addresses a gap in India's recordings business. According to the newly released report by EY and the Indian Music Industry (IMI), while 96% of Indian smartphone users consume music, the market struggles with monetisation, counting only 14 million paid subscribers compared to over 200 million for video, with discovery now "primarily visual-first, driven by reels and short-form video." To unlock growth, the report highlights industry initiatives, including calls for streaming services to "integrate with short-form video ecosystems" and "build richer, more connected experiences with the creator economy." FENIX360 and Gaana’s integration addresses this by embedding a native media feed with synced catalogue playback in the Gaana app, ahead of upcoming updates that will allow artists to upload content directly and manage fan interactions.
Yatish Mehrishi, CEO, Entertainment Network India Limited (ENIL), which owns and operates the Gaana music streaming service, said: “Music platforms need to evolve from places where people simply listen to music into ecosystems where artists and fans discover, engage and connect. With FENIX360, Gaana is taking an industry-first step in bringing this direct-to-fan experience into music streaming, creating new ways for fans to engage with artists while enabling artists to build communities and create new revenue opportunities for themselves from their fan relationships.”
The panel marks the start of a week of celebrations of “STREAMING REIMAGINED” – a new vision designed to transform how streaming can economically benefit artists. A streaming event will broadcast at 7 PM in all time zones on Thursday, 27 August. The broadcast kicks off in Times Square with a segment filmed in collaboration with the American TV show Wonderama, hosted by David Osmond and featuring a performance by singer, dancer, and influencer McKenzi Brooke. The event will feature performances from artists across 13 cities and the release of a special video and song by three-time Grammy Award-winning composer Ricky Kej. The show is free, requires no account, and can be watched at https://fenix360rising.swigit.com.
On 31 August, FENIX360 will launch the FENIX360 Artist Trust, chaired by international concert promoter Harvey Goldsmith CBE, with the aim of giving back to artists and supporting charities.
Allan Klepfisz, founder, Chairman and CEO of FENIX360, said: “Streaming changed how the world listens to music. STREAMING REIMAGINED is about changing what streaming can do for the people who create it. This is much bigger than one announcement, which is why we are celebrating it with artists and audiences around the world for an entire week.”
FENIX360’s technology is designed to be adaptable, enabling other streaming platforms across multiple territories to easily integrate its functionality.
