  • Ruby Harpin joins full-time as Press Assistant

  • Agency marks 25 years as a leading communications consultancy for the international music business, with event planned for the Autumn

Leading music PR and social media agency Name PR has announced a series of key promotions.

Will McCrossan has been promoted to Junior Account Manager, Corporate. Joining the agency in 2025, he steps up from his role as Senior Account Executive, delivering industry-facing campaigns for clients including IDOL and the Association of Independent Music. He brings a wealth of experience from the arts PR sector and artist-side insight, formerly a member of the Heavenly Recordings-signed indie-folk band Tapir!. Focusing his thesis on London’s small music venues, McCrossan graduated from Goldsmiths with an MA in Arts Administration and Cultural Policy.

Promoted to Publicist, Joshua Hart now leads Name PR’s consumer practice, alongside working on corporate clients like Proper and Exceleration Music, and Redeye’s 30th and Cooking Vinyl 40th anniversary celebrations. Also joining Name PR in 2025, Hart has nine years of consumer experience, six of which were at Proper’s in-house PR team with Jo Donnelly. He has delivered campaigns for artists like Macy Gray and Cocteau Twins, to high-profile releases and reissues on Universal Music Recordings, ECM, and Topic.

Strengthening the agency's core capabilities, Name PR has appointed Ruby Harpin full-time as Press Assistant, working across corporate and consumer. Harpin previously worked as a management assistant at Z Management, and is the drummer of indie shoegaze band Dreamhaus.

Name PR is marking its 25-year milestone as a leading communications consultancy for the international music business, with celebrations planned in the Autumn. The agency played a pivotal role in the early growth of AIM and Merlin, and has represented industry heavyweights including FUGA, Kobalt and Sony Music UK. Name has also delivered consumer campaigns for artists like Stevie Wonder and Jean-Michel Jarre, and events including the Folk Album Of The Year Award and The British Library’s Beyond The Bassline exhibition.

Will McCrossan said, “It is fantastic to be stepping up at an agency that is so embedded in the music ecosystem. Coming from an arts PR background and having spent years making music myself, being able to bring those two sides of my experience together at Name PR has been incredibly rewarding. I’m looking forward to taking on more responsibility across our corporate work and continuing to build on the relationships I’ve developed with clients and journalists across the business.”

Joshua Hart added, “To lead and grow the consumer division at one of the UK’s finest, and most fast-paced, music PR agencies is an incredible opportunity. With years of publicity campaigns under my belt, I can’t wait to develop the department while honing my corporate skills with some of the industry’s most exciting companies. It’s a pleasure to be working with Sam, Will, and Ruby, and I can’t wait to see where the next year takes us.”

Commented founder Sam Shemtob, “These promotions reflect the swift progress Will and Josh have made in the last year, and my expectation is that they are set to grow a lot further. Any company is only as good as its staff, and Josh, Ruby and Will are an exceptionally switched-on, passionate and attentive trio, working with a spring in their step!”
